What does Dryhootch offer?
A Coffee House where veterans, their families, and the general public can connect, share stories, and support one another in a safe, drug/alcohol-free environment.
A Peer Mentor Program in which veterans and their families can receive one-on-one and/or group mentoring. Individuals can meet with one of our on-site Peer Mentors. We also hold weekly support groups on a variety of topics, including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, family support, Veterans Over Age 60, Suicide Survivors, etc.
A Veteran Court & Corrections Peer Mentor Program—we are in the process of working with J.C. Moore in the Public Defender’s Office to become Milwaukee County’s only provider of court and corrections veteran peer mentors. The goal is to assist veterans involved in the legal system and those coming out of prison.
The Dryhootch Website (www.dryhootch.org) is another medium where veterans and supporters can connect with one another. Similar to Facebook, individuals can sign up on the site, create their own profile page, and connect with other members.
